I wonder how web-compatible the addition of "group" is. Given the regression range, I'm marking this as a regression of bug 1739648. It will be tough to determine whether there is an occurrence of "group" in it. "group" is very generic, and I see some occurrences of "group" in LastPass's source code, in 11 MB of JS files.

That patch to bug 1739648 renamed groupBy / groupByToMap to group / groupToMap. I've rerun the bisect several times though and it comes back to this same revision each time. I don't see anything about array methods but maybe I'm missing something. The final result also looks a little confusing looking at the debug log. I waited a bit b/c I was busy and wanted to make sure it didn't fix itself. Old build passed and it narrowed down around July with 104 which aligns with experience. To try to and recreate that through regression testing I used the -profile-persistence=copy-first and logged in the first time and used that profile for each test. But if I log in to my Firefox profile with just lastpass enabled it failed. So I did some tests and it was pretty confusing.įirst confusion bit, a clean profile with just lastpass I was able to log in cleanly. Tested on the latest Nightly (108.0a1/20221018213916) and Release (106.0/20221010110315) aas well as the latest available snap builds of Nightly (107.0a1/20221013022417 – canonical-002) and Release (106.0/20221014183137 – canonical-002).Īs for errors in the browser console, I only get a “ExtensionError: No such native application ”, on both the normal builds and the snap ones, but that does not hinder the login process or any other extension function it seems. So I cannot reproduce the issue even so, at least on what OS I have available. Of course, I accept and I’m logged in without any issues and not logged out. On the authenticator app I get a prompt to either accept or reject the login request and a I think a 1 minute timer to do this.

Now, each time, after I submit the email and password via the login form, I’m asked for a passcode.

I have yet to work with the LastPass app on my Android devices to see what's necessary there to achieve similar protection.Firstly, I just want to point out that the only available Linux I have access to, is Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, without the possibility of an update unfortunately.Īs per Comment 9, I’ve set up MFA via the LastPass authenticator app on my phone. The only time your vault might remain open and unsecure after locking the screen, sleeping, hibernating, rebooting, or shutting down, is if these these actions occur within a 1 minute idle period on any browser. The only time you will not have to re-enter your master password is if you use LastPass within the current 1 minute idle period.ĥ. Then after the first minute has passed, whenever you again need to use LastPass to login into a site, you will need to login again, but now you can simply touch your fingerprint reader to login, and another 1 minute idle period will start counting down.Ĥ. When first booting up the computer, you will login into LastPass on all browsers using the keyboard only - the only way possible.ģ. Logout and re-login again to LastPass in each browser and check that the setting took.Ģ. Set the idle timeout settings to 1 minute in all browsers.

The closest you can get is a kludge involving timeout settings and more frequent re-entering of the full master password, so I suggest getting a fingerprint reader for your computer to easily and quickly unlock the vault on subsequent accesses after the initial keyboard-only login.ġ. This means that at such times, your vault is effectively only protected by your Windows login, and not your master vault password.

If you feel like I do that a password manager vault should always be locked whenever you are not actually using your computer, then read on.įirst of all - in the browser-centered architecture of LastPass, the browser extension does NOT (and currently cannot be made to) automatically lock the vault in response to a manual or timed out screen lock, or when the computer sleeps, hibernates, reboots or shuts down, as incredible as that sounds. Here is the answer to my question, based on correspondence with LastPass technical support.
